Patient Education – Pain Management
Research supports the positive effects of pain neurophysiology and pain management education. This knowledge creates the cognitive foundation for a new perspective on recovery from chronic pain. It will compliment the benefits of other active treatment interventions. Benefits include improved self-efficacy and perception of ability, decreased catastrophic thinking, decreased pain and enhanced belief in one's ability to control pain.

“Neil adapts these complex concepts about pain science and pain management in ways that are relevant and easy to understand for our clients. It's not just that the clients understand pain better, but they are less afraid and feel empowered to make important changes in their behaviour, which leads to increased function and improved mood for many of them.”
Julia D. Jacobson D. Lit. and Phil., Reg. Psych. Director – OrionHealth Vancouver Pain Clinic
