Spend time immersed in safe, effective yoga practices to decrease your pain and help you live well again. Explore modern, science-based views on chronic pain, while empowering yourself with practical, hands on tools to improve the quality of your life. Heal yourself through yoga techniques designed to wind down your nervous system and promote positive, lasting changes in your body. Facilitated by Neil Pearson, a highly respected physiotherapist, yoga therapist and educator, this session, with its elements of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, will leave you with an individualized plan so that you can continue moving towards a life of less pain. After all, life is now.

Intended Participants:

  1. People with chronic pain, especially those interested in connecting Western understanding of pain, with the body-mind-spirit practices of yoga.
  2. Yoga teachers, yoga therapists and health care professionals wishing to enhance their work with people in chronic pain.

Content:

Daily sessions include:

  1. Yoga practices to assist participants in decreasing their pain, increasing their function and improving their quality of life.
  2. Education in modern understanding of the physiology of pain, of chronic pain and of pain management.
  3. Discussion groups and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy integration.
  4. Development of an individualized pain management plan through yoga.

Length:

Four (4) days is recommended. Shorter or longer retreats are possible. Best results are expected when participants have greater opportunity to receive feedback and to practice within a supportive environment.
